		<description><![CDATA[It may be helpful for young college candidates to know that certain colleges, such as St. Catherine University, offer scholarships that reward recipients of the Girl Scout Gold or Silver Awards. When my daughter Elizabeth applied to St. Kate&#039;s in 2008, she was offered a scholarship based on earning the Girl Scout Gold Award--as she walked through the door at a St. Kate&#039;s admission event! My daughter ultimately decided to attend a college in outstate Minnesota, which does not have a specific Girl Scout scholoarship. However, that college, Gustavus Adolphus, took into account her Girl Scout accomplishments in awarding her their Presidential Scholarship. Kathy]]></description>
