This patch program is a way to actively engage girls in the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouting and recognize them for that engagement. Girls will increase their sense of pride in being a Girl Scout by enhancing their understanding of the:
- History of Girl Scouting
- Influence Girl Scouting has had on women in our community
- Opportunities available to them through Girl Scouting
- Impact they as Girl Scouts can have on our community
The patch program is for all grade levels and may be earned through participation in Centennial events and activities at the troop, service unit and council levels, including the Oral History Project, various Great Girl Gathering @ MOA® activities and the Centennial Day of Service: 2012 Take Action Project.
Earning the patch is one of the core components of the 2011–2012 Program Essentials Charts, so that all girls are given the opportunity and time to engage in the 100th Anniversary as part of their regular Girl Scout programming.
