Governor Dayton Proclaims June 20-24 Always a Girl Scout Week in Minnesota

Week-long event celebrates the largest alumnae network in the world!

To help Girl Scouts celebrate our legacy of leadership development and reconnect with alumnae, Governor Mark Dayton proclaimed June 20-24, 2011 as Always a Girl Scout Week in Minnesota. In anticipation of the organization’s 100th anniversary in 2012, River Valleys seeks to reconnect with local alumnae who can inspire today’s Girl Scouts as role models and become champions for providing girls with the developmental experiences they need to thrive.

The Governor’s proclamation recognizes Girl Scout alumnae who make a difference in their communities, influence the lives of other women and inspire girls. Always a Girl Scout Week is an opportunity to identify and honor distinguished Girl Scout alumnae, the women who through their lives and work exemplify the culture, depth, diversity and values of the Girl Scout Movement.

Show your Girl Scout pride during Always a Girl Scout Week by wearing green or bring items such as your Brownie beanie, uniform sash, or other fun memorabilia to work.
