Girl Scout Silver + Gold Award Recognition Ceremony in Owatonna

On May 22, Girl Scout Gold and Silver Award recipients were honored at a ceremony in Owatonna. There were 30 of this year’s 136 Girl Scout Gold Award recipients and 75 of this year’s 457 Girl Scout Silver Award recipients along with their family and friends in attendance.  Juhee Kwon, a 2010 Girl Scout Gold Award recipient, served as emcee for the event and Dr. Nancy Fitzsimons, Associate Professor of Social Work and Master of Social Work Program Director at Mankato State University, gave the keynote address. It was inspiring to see the leadership and dedication that this year’s award recipients showed in their communities as they worked to make the world a better place.
