Northwoods Girl Scout Rake Out

Posted by

Troops 13112 and 11391 of Northwoods Service Unit in Andover, along with other Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and friends and family, met on November 6 to rake 14 homes for those who could use assistance in the Andover/Anoka area. The weather was perfect, dry and sunny, and two teams of more than 80 volunteers raked from 9 a.m. to noon.
This is our third annual Great Scout Rake Out, each year growing with more volunteers and homes. It’s a great community service event that we plan to continue for years to come.
THANKS to all the local area businesses who donated supplies and food to make this project a success. We received donations of rakes, lawn bags, free compost dumping, trailers, and food. Troop 13112 baked some delicious cookies to top it off. The group enjoyed lunch and fellowship at Sunshine Park in Andover, an end to a great day.

Thanks to the Following Supporters….

  • $40 store credit to Ace Frattalone
  • Rakes and Leaf Bags from Home Depot
  • $25 gift card to County Mkt
  • $25 gift card from Cub Foods
  • $50 gift card from Andover Lions toward food from Cub Foods
  • Free dumping of leaves at the Bunker Hills Compost Site for the day
  • Subs, Chips, and Sodas from Pot Belly Deli

And thanks to all those who participated, helping to make this a success!
