Getting girls involved when planning safety for an activity helps them to establish lifelong habits of safety consciousness. Here are some ideas for different age groups:
- Grades K-3: Have the girls brainstorm a list of things they should do or remember to stay safe for any given activity.
- Grades 4-8: Give the girls a copy of the activity checkpoint and have them pull out the important safety considerations. Have them determine how to work these into the activity rules.
- Grades 9-12: Have the girls review the Safety-Wise section of the website to determine which safety checkpoints to consider as they begin planning. Work the safety considerations into the planning of the activity.
