Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys was recognized November 3 at the second annual Maude Finch Awards ceremony, recognizing our work in the “advancement for the common good.” The ceremony, held at the DoubleTree Hotel in Rochester, was presented by emcee Carmen Kane, a Women’s Leadership Council member and the 2010 Mayo Campaign Chair. Guests enjoyed the piano music of Girl Scout Cadette Natash Sohni while they socialized prior to the program.
Awardees Barbara Withers, the Girl Scouts of the Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys, and the IBM EX.I.T.E. Camp were each honored as they received a framed letter in commemoration of their achievements in advancing the common good in the community just as Maude Finch did in 1925 when she promptly donated her earnings as the Community Chest recording secretary.
To all the amazing adult volunteers who deliver the Girl Scouts program to all our girl members: Thank you! Without your dedication and hard work, this recognition would never have been possible.
