Stewart/Brownton Girl Scouts recently baked 50 loaves of Amish Friendship Bread at their camp out. The girls took part in the Spread the Bread program through this activity. Spread the Bread is a community bread-giving campaign to help kids get into the spirit of giving and spread good will to those around them. The girls donated the bread to Senior Dining members of Stewart and Brownton, and several other senior members of the communities.
Girls in the troop include: Summer, Hali, Laura, Serena, Alena, Kaylee, Missy, Promise, Samantha, Caitlin, Lauren , Camille, Genevieve, Brandi, and Aurora. Troop leaders are Gerri and Mike.
In addition to the service project, the girls did lots of outdoor activities–cross-country skiing, ice fishing (with their homemade jiggle sticks), and sledding. They also learned about teamwork and recycling.
